WHO AM I
MATTEO GAZZANO

Born in San Remo in 1980, I have always lived in the countryside. My passion for nature and gardens as well as my respect for the environment was taught to me by both grandmothers with whom I spent many hours in the garden, characterized by sub-tropical flora, and in the hills of the countryside above San Remo among the olive trees, vineyards, orchards and Mediterranean flora.

This led me to study agricultural at the Vocational Institute “Domenico Aicardi”, where I earned the title of agrotechnician. I then continued my studies in the Agriculture department at University of Turin, specializing in the Design, Implementation, and Management of Parks and Gardens. This gave me an excellent technical training in the study of subjects such as: Agronomy, Botany, Plant Pathology etc. …, and in the study of specific subjects that characterize the course such as: Landscape Architecture, Parks and Gardens, Arboriculture ornamental, turfs, etc. …

My experiences working and studying in Italy, Brazil, France and England, visits to the Botanical Gardens and the observation of green spaces, as well as the technical collaborations and volunteerism that I do for environmental protection have all contributed to my professional growth. My studies and experiences allow me to work both on intensive crops such as cut flowers, the focus sector in the area where I live, and in the design and construction of the gardens.

I receive the greatest satisfaction by turning even unwelcoming spaces into harmonious and relaxing environments, and through the process of creating different landscapes in the world, ranging from gardenMediterranean to subtropical gardens, gardens of grass or exotic gardens etc. …

One thing that I think is important is the dialogue with customers that allows me to understand their needs, desires and tastes. The reliability of suppliers is also crucial in my work creating a garden through all its phases, from design to manufacturing, allowing me to give maximum importance to the quality of my work. The inspiration for my projects comes from both simple strolls through the gardens of my city, as well as walks along mule tracks and trails of the Liguria and the French Riviera.

From my very first garden project, I have always preferred the natural design of curved linesusing plants. This preference can be attributed to the area where I grew up where the sinuous lines of thecoasts, drawn by the sea and mountains, dominate the landscape of my city. In my opinion a garden should be a welcoming and relaxing environment – a place to be in harmony with one’s family and friends because being in contact with nature is to live better!
